The GreenTeam of the University of Stuttgart has recently achieved a record by breaking the latest King’s World Record for straight-line acceleration at zero 100 km/h with a time of 1.416 seconds for its specially built electric car, the E0711-11 EVO. This figure is largely due to the car’s weight of only 320 pounds and 241 horsepower, with an effective power-to-weight ratio of 0.753 horsepower per pound even better than that of a Formula 1 car, and a G-force of 2.5 at full acceleration. The previous record for straight-line acceleration at zero 100 km/h was 1.513 seconds, with a gap of only 0.097 seconds, making it a very close race.
